BOLL Charity Project

The BOLL Charity Project was launched in 2020 and has been carried out in most years since

As part of this initiative, BOLL employees can nominate organizations, associations, or projects that are close to their hearts for financial support from the company.

The project that ultimately receives support is chosen collectively by the employees through an open vote.

Projects supported in recent years

2024

Kinderhospiz Allani

Founded in 2016, the allani Kinderhospiz Bern association is dedicated to supporting children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families. In 2024, the first children's hospice of its kind opened in Riedbach under the name Kinderhospiz Bern. The renovated farmhouse serves as a temporary home, where families receive care and support, can create lasting memories, and spend meaningful time together.

2024

Zeka-Rollers Aargau

The Zeka-Rollers Aargau, founded in 2003, are an all-age sports club made up primarily of current and former students of the zeka centers for people with physical disabilities in the canton of Aargau. The Zeka-Rollers not only provide barrier-free access to sports, but also foster a sense of community, strengthen team spirit, and inspire athletic ambition. Their success proves them right ? both on a sporting and a human level.

2023

Förderverein Bunutan Bali

The Bunutan Bali support association - Bunutan is a village on the Indonesian island of Bali - was officially founded in 2023, though charitable initiatives date back to 2017. The association's volunteers initiate, fund, and monitor various projects aimed at improving health, education, and food security for the population, which is regularly affected by natural disasters.

2021

Stiftung Begegnung mit Tieren

The foundation Begegnung mit Tieren has existed since 2013, but animal-assisted interventions have been offered at the Lägern therapy farm since 1998.
Animals are used in therapy and training for children and adults with disabilities. Participants can touch and experience the animals, learn to understand and respect their needs ? and, in turn, recognize their own. Caring for the animals helps to develop skills such as perseverance, independence, and attentiveness, while also encouraging both children and adults to take responsibility. Animals also have a calming effect, and their trust in humans strengthens the participants' self-esteem.

2020

Sonriza del Corazón

Sonrisa del Corazón - meaning ?Smile of the Heart? - is the evocative name of a Swiss foundation that supports children, young people, and families in Guatemala. Founded in 2014, the foundation focuses on access to education, particularly through scholarships and the promotion of vocational training. It also runs projects such as the distribution of water filters and food packages. The foundation passes on all financial donations in full and continuously explores new ways to provide support. Among other things, it offers the opportunity to combine holidays or language stays with charitable activities.

In addition, BOLL continuously supports the following organizations with an annual donation

Kantha Bopha Foundation
von Dr. Beat Rychner

The history of the foundation, which now comprises five hospitals, dates back to 1992 and the pediatricians Beat Richner and Peter Studer. After a visit to Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, Richner was asked by King Norodom Sihanouk and the Cambodian government to rebuild and manage Kantha Bopha Hospital (Old Khmer for "fragrant flower," named after the king's daughter). Today, the operational management and administration of the hospitals are fully in Cambodian hands, but the work continues in the spirit of the now-deceased founders. The foundation's responsibilities include the further development of the institutions as well as the collection of donations.

Verein Tamahú
von Walter Grimm

The Tamahú Association is named after a 112km˛ municipality in the central highlands of Guatemala and was founded in 1994 by master hairdresser Walter Grimm. Since its inception, the association's charitable work has focused on healthcare and has emphasized the vital importance of clean water. Following its first project - a medical outpost - came, among others, a school complex and several sustainable water initiatives that continue to benefit the local population, primarily members of the Pocomchí, a Maya ethnic group. Even after the passing of its founder in 2013 - who was honoured with the Aargau Red Cross Award in 2005 - the association continues its mission in his spirit.
